Caitlin Hayden joined BAE Systems, Inc. in 2019 and is the Senior Vice President of Communications. In this role, she’s responsible for driving the strategic global narrative around the company’s broad portfolio of products and services, as well as employee engagement and community investment activities.
Caitlin is a member of the U.S. headquarters Senior Leadership Team; the Inc. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council; and serves as the Executive Sponsor for the Brand Leadership Institute and the African Americans Committed to Excellence Employee Resource Group.
Prior to joining BAE Systems, Caitlin served as Vice President of Communications for the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), and before that as the Executive Vice President and Media Group director in the DC office of Edelman, a global public relations firm. Before Edelman, Caitlin spent close to 15 years in the Federal Government as a civil servant, ending her government tenure as a Special Assistant to President Barack Obama, the Senior Director for Strategic Communications and Press, and the spokesperson for the National Security Council. Prior to the White House, Caitlin served with the U.S. Department of State in policy and communications assignments that spanned embassies and offices in Washington, D.C., Afghanistan, Iraq, and the United Kingdom.
Caitlin lives in Arlington, Virginia, is married to an Icelander, and has a four-year-old daughter. She’s a proud alum of the University of Alabama and a huge Crimson Tide football fan.
