Gabriela (Gaby) leads executive and strategic recruiting for Financial Advisors and Field Leadership for Wealth Management Americas (WMA). In her role she works closely with Senior Management across WMA to help identify and recruit successful and diverse talent across the Wealth Management division. Leveraging her 20 years of experience and strong relationships across the industry, she helps foster a diverse culture of Financial Advisors and Field Leaders and maximize profitability through recruitment.
Gaby joined UBS from J.P.Morgan, where she was responsible for Executive recruiting across the Wealth Management division. Prior to J.P.Morgan, she was Head of Strategic Recruiting Americas at Credit Suisse, where she led their recruiting efforts to drive Private Banking growth and expansion in both the North America and Latin America. In addition to her passion and experience in recruiting, Gaby has held a variety of business development, sales and relationship management roles with other global companies in the U.S. and Latin America.
Gaby started her career in Mexico City working for Lucent Technologies as an assistant contract manager; in 2000 she moved to the U.S. and became a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch; in 2004 she joined Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group (PBIG) as a Business Development Specialist focusing on recruiting Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) teams, in 2006 she joined UBS working for the Regional Director of the Northeast Division where she helped build and lead the recruiting efforts in Private Wealth Management business.
Gaby graduated from Tufts University. She is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and French. She was born in Mexico City, and is dual citizen of Spain and U.S.
Outside of work Gaby enjoys film, music, fashion and yoga, she resides in New York City with her husband Oliver, a professional trumpet player and their four cats.
